MasterChef India judge Kunal Kapur Divorce: Chef Kunal Kapoor has got divorce from his wife on the grounds of ‘cruelty’. The Delhi High Court on Tuesday granted divorce to celebrity chef Kunal Kapoor on the grounds of cruelty by his wife. Kunal Kapoor had earlier filed this divorce petition in the family court, which was not accepted. A division bench of Justices Suresh Kumar Kait and Neena Bansal Krishna said that Kapoor’s wife’s conduct towards him was devoid of dignity and compassion.
Wife did not allow him to meet his son
Chef Kunal Kapoor got married in 2008 and became the father of a son in 2012. He had filed a case against his wife that during their marriage, his wife used to call the police to threaten him and his family. He alleged that in September 2016, when he was shooting for MasterChef India at Yah Raj Studio, his wife entered the studio with their minor son and created a ruckus there. It has also been revealed in the WhatsApp chat that the wife did not allow Kunal to even meet her son. Rather she used to ask for money from Kunal.

On this matter, the court said that based on the facts of the present case, this conduct of the wife towards her husband is devoid of her dignity and sympathy. When a husband or wife have such a disposition towards each other, it offends the true meaning of marriage and there is no possible reason why they should be forced to live with the pain of living together. ‘
Chef Kunal Kapoor also alleged that ever since he became famous, his wife started threatening him of spreading false rumors in the media and filing false criminal complaints against him and his parents. Once his wife even slapped him just before leaving for shooting.
Kunal Kapoor and his wife Ekta Kapoor also have a son.
Wife said, mother-in-law and father-in-law used to taunt
His wife denied the allegations and said that she compromised her professional career to help her family and husband. The wife alleges that her in-laws constantly taunted her for doing a job instead of doing household work and repeatedly insulted her for small reasons.
The Court considered the arguments and said that it is a settled position of law that making reckless, insulting and baseless allegations against a spouse in public amounts to cruelty.
